Maldives, Zambia, Antigua and Barbuda open visa-free travel to Ghanaians

Ghanaians can now travel to the Maldives, Zambia, and Antigua and Barbuda without obtaining entry visas, following new visa waiver agreements with these countries. The agreements apply to Ghanian passport holders, including those with ordinary, service, and diplomatic passports. Travellers to the Maldives and Zambia can stay for up to 30 days, while those visiting Antigua and Barbuda may remain for a maximum of 90 days without a visa.

However, the waiver does not guarantee unrestricted entry, and travellers must still meet the immigration requirements of the destination countries, present the necessary travel documents, and adhere to the allowed duration of stay. Ghanaians traveling for employment, study, residence, or other purposes necessitating specific authorization will still need to obtain the relevant permits prior to departure.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the importance of checking current entry and health requirements with the relevant authorities or Ghana's nearest diplomatic mission, as such requirements may change. The new arrangements aim to facilitate international travel for Ghanaians and strengthen bilateral relations with partner countries.
