Karnataka govt.’s Praja Seve to be expanded with launch of ‘Namma Seve’ app

In a move that could reflect the quality of services provided to citizens, the government will introduce a citizen feedback and rating system

Karnataka govt.’s Praja Seve to be expanded with launch of ‘Namma Seve’ app

The Karnataka government plans to expand the Praja Seve grievance redressal initiative by launching the 'Namma Seve' mobile application before October 2. Currently, 2,300 out of 2,456 offered services can be accessed online, but the remaining 156 services will also be brought online through the app. The government is also working on a common citizen login ID for all services, replacing the current separate login IDs.

To improve application processing, AI will be used to sort and route applications to the correct departments, addressing issues like incorrect category selection or computer operator errors. A new citizen feedback and rating system will be introduced, requiring justification for low ratings, which will be escalated to higher authorities.

As of now, 13,872 of 26,386 grievances have been disposed of, and 12,514 are under redressal. Revenue Department grievances were the most frequent at 35.1%, followed by Urban Development with 16.2%, and Housing with 14.9%. Kolar district led applications, followed by Vijayanagar, Gadag, Bagalkote, and Tumakuru districts. Old-age pension scheme grievances were the most common at 2,087, followed by housing site schemes and RTC/Pahani services.
