Karachi Police Officer Caught With Fake Number Plate

In Karachi, police apprehended an officer driving a vehicle with a counterfeit number plate, as reported by ARY News. According to authorities, the officer, identified as SHO Yousuf Plaza Waqar Awan, was en route when his vehicle was pulled over near Artillery Maidan. Evidence from Safe City cameras confirmed the vehicle's presence within Artillery Maidan police station jurisdiction.

Waqar Awan was initially taken to the Artillery Maidan police station before being transferred to the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell for further investigation. Central District Police suspended the officer on Tuesday evening and revoked his position. It was further announced that departmental consequences would be imposed against him.

AVLC police stated that the ongoing investigation into the matter. In a related incident, Karachi police removed Manghopir SHO Raja Zulfiqar following a fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy who resisted a robbery. The victim, who had memorized the Holy Quran and recently excelled in his matriculation exams, was among eight siblings.

His parents accused robbers of breaking into their home and gunning him down, alleging that two of the attackers were wearing police uniforms. AIG Karachi Azad Khan suspended the officer due to his inability to curb crime in the area. The parents staged a protest outside Manghopir Police Station, demanding accountability.
