Jhené Aiko Taps Kendrick Lamar for Reflective Track ‘So Good’

Jhené Aiko's highly anticipated fourth album, Westside Whimsy, has finally arrived after more than six years, delighting fans eager to hear what the seven-time Grammy nominee had been working on. The 20-track album, which pays homage to her hometown of Los Angeles, features a star-studded lineup of fellow L.A. natives and friends, including Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, Tyga, OHMA, and Larry June.

The album kicks off with the ethereal ballad "Wild Cat(s)," followed by the dreamy "Ghost" and the reflective "Break." Collaborations begin on track four with Ab-Soul's "Love Bomb," showcasing his ad-libs over the song's subtle beat. From there, listeners can expect a mix of midtempo tracks like "Ceiling (Freestyle)" and "Nothing Nice to Say," as well as slow rollers such as "Like, Whatever" and "Neighbors."

The album takes a more introspective turn with "Unicorn," "Nami's Haiku," "A Living Light," and the OHMA-featuring closer "Golden Coast." The latter pays tribute to the resilience of Los Angeles, with Aiko singing, "Shining through your darkest nights/ You still got a lot of light/ You're still a classic/ Magic every time."
