Jantar Mantar protest not true picture of country's next generation, says Keralam Guv

Thiruvananthapuram, Keralam Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar addressed a gathering at Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology on the silver jubilee celebrations. He stated that the student protest at Jantar Mantar over the NEET paper leak did not represent the true picture of the country's next generation. Arlekar emphasized the importance of character building among young people, questioning the use of "filthy language" during protests against country leaders.

He noted that students had the right to agitate for their demands but criticized the aggressive approach. The protest, organized by the Cockroach Janta Party, lasted 36 days and demanded Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation over irregularities in the exam system and the NEET paper leak. They relinquished the protest after Pradhan resigned.

Arlekar stressed that the country had various resources but questioned if enough attention was given to character development. He attributed the shift in responsibility for character building from families to educational institutions, which should focus on imparting human values and principles of life.
