Goldschmidt expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of truth alone in resolving societal issues, citing the example of the health commission, which struggled with reaching compromises.

He praised the success of the aging security commission in balancing compromises. He acknowledged that using the term "truth" to sell political messages is problematic and that compromise requires all sides to understand the rationale behind it. He criticized Chancellor Friedrich Merz for his inability to implement his promised "pure CDU" politics, stating that Merz has learned three painful lessons: the need to compromise, avoiding fear-mongering, and the importance of a fair and respectful negotiation process.

He cautioned against propagating the truth as it can unnerve others and lead to political backlash, citing historical examples where such attitudes have resulted in poor governance.
