The family benefits from the flexible work schedule of Bañares' employer, who provides two and a half days off every week. This time off enables Bañares to spend meaningful moments with his wife and two children, Rogel (13) and Emma (10), both of whom are studying in Abu Dhabi. Instead of splurging on expensive outings, they often opt for simpler activities in the city.

Some of Bañares' favorite spots in Abu Dhabi include family parks, zoos, museums, and beaches. He emphasizes that these places hold special significance for his family, as they create lasting memories of being together in a city that values family, nature, and well-being.

Bañares also notes that window shopping and using free play areas in shopping malls can be relaxing without breaking the bank. His family enjoys these activities and considers them a great way to enjoy quality time while being financially wise.

Bañares' own financial journey began in the Philippines, where he worked for a construction engineering company before settling in the UAE. Although he faced a setback when he lost his job, he credits the experience for strengthening his character and pushing him to pursue new beginnings. Today, he works for a government entity in Abu Dhabi, finding stability, purpose, and renewed direction.

Bañares considers Abu Dhabi a safe haven for families, with its strong culture of safety, security, and economic stability. The city offers a combination of strong community values, economic opportunities, and supportive public services that allow families to live well, grow, and build a hopeful future together.

In addition to his family, Bañares is also involved in supporting other overseas workers. He is the current chairman of the OFW Global Movement for Empowerment, an organization that aids fellow Filipinos who have lost their jobs during challenging times.
