HK names 11-strong equestrian squad for Asian Games

Hong Kong has selected an 11-strong equestrian team for the upcoming Asian Games, combining seasoned riders with three newcomers. The team, representing all three equestrian disciplines—dressage, eventing, and jumping—will compete at the JRA Equestrian Park in Tokyo. The squad includes two veteran riders, Patrick Lam and Annie Ho, who will participate in multiple events.

Their experience complements that of Sheikara Lalive d’Epinay, who is debuting in jumping, and Yuddy Cheng and Kendra Li, who are making their first appearances in dressage. All equestrian athletes are based in Europe and will continue training alongside their horses in the weeks leading up to the Games. Equestrian Federation of Hong Kong, China, president Lester Huang expressed pride in the team's blend of experience and fresh talent, stating that it embodies the spirit of continuity and renewal in equestrian sport.

The federation also highlighted the appointment of six experienced officials as stewards, recognizing Hong Kong's high caliber of officiating and its international standing. Hong Kong has previously won five equestrian medals in Asian Games.
