Ghana passport holders get visa-free access to Maldives, Zambia, Antigua & Barbuda

Ghanaian passport holders can now enter the Maldives, Zambia, and Antigua & Barbuda without requiring an entry visa, due to newly ratified visa waiver agreements with the three nations. The announcement was made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, following Parliament's approval of the respective agreements. The waiver allows eligible Ghanaian passport holders to travel visa-free to these countries, with each destination imposing its own maximum stay duration.

Maldives permits stays of up to 30 days for Ordinary, Service, and Diplomatic passport holders, while Zambia and Antigua & Barbuda allow stays of 30 and 90 days, respectively. Despite the visa-free entry, Ghanaian travellers must still comply with each country's immigration and entry requirements. The Ministry emphasized that visa-free entry does not exempt travellers from meeting the immigration and entry requirements of the destination country.

Additionally, travellers are advised to carry a valid passport and any other required documents, and to adhere to the approved duration under the waiver arrangement. The Ministry cautioned that the waiver does not cover activities such as work, study, or residence, for which appropriate permits or authorizations must be obtained from the relevant authorities.

Travellers are advised to verify any changes in entry, health, or other requirements with the relevant authorities or the nearest embassy or high commission before travelling.
