Germany partnership can 'shape future economy', says adviser to UAE President

Faisal Al Bannai, a UAE strategic adviser, stated that Germany and the Emirates are poised to shape the future economy through a $40 billion partnership plan. This collaboration aims to leverage the strengths of both nations in technology and innovation, unlocking new opportunities for cooperation. The two longstanding allies unveiled ambitious plans to strengthen ties across key sectors during President Sheikh Mohamed's historic state visit to Germany.

The UAE has committed €40 billion ($46.47 billion) to Germany, focusing on industry, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, and energy. Al Bannai emphasized that both countries possess complementary technological capabilities, giving them a strong foundation for a robust technology and innovation partnership.

Germany excels in engineering, industry, and advanced research, while the UAE is developing expertise in artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and accelerating technological transitions for practical applications. This alignment presents significant potential across sectors such as clean energy, advanced manufacturing, AI, digital infrastructure, logistics, and high-value industrial technologies.

Al Bannai highlighted that the state visit of President Sheikh Mohamed is timely and will further enhance bilateral ties, enabling the partnership to evolve beyond knowledge exchange and capability development. The collaboration aims to address global shifts, spur innovation, and generate lasting economic and developmental impact.
