Gamuda Land and MTR cooperate on integrated station development

Gamuda Land and MTR have announced a collaboration to develop integrated station projects in Vietnam, following a signing ceremony where the two companies joined forces with SonKim Land. Representatives from the Consulates General of Vietnam and Malaysia attended the event, underscoring the significance of the partnership. The agreement enables the parties to share knowledge and expertise in urban development, aiming to create models that integrate public transport, residential, commercial, service, and public spaces.

This is not the first collaboration between Gamuda and MTR; the two entities have previously worked together in Australia, notably on the Riverside Link Consortium project which involved the construction of the Parramatta Metro Station and associated facilities. This experience provided a solid foundation for further exploration of opportunities in Vietnam, where urban rail networks are growing and playing an increasingly important role in urban development strategies.

With more than 50 years combined experience, Gamuda Berhad brings expertise in transport infrastructure, urban rail, and tunneling technology, as well as extensive international project delivery experience. MTR, on the other hand, offers decades of experience in urban rail operations and property development through its "Rail plus Property" model, which combines transport infrastructure with commercial, residential, and service functions.

Gamuda Land already has a portfolio of townships and residential developments in key Vietnamese cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, and Haiphong, many of which have been designed with connectivity to public transport in mind. The collaboration between Gamuda Land and MTR combines the strengths of both companies, aiming to develop integrated station models that align with Vietnam's planning context, infrastructure needs, and urban development priorities.

Through this partnership, public transport can become a catalyst for creating modern, sustainable, and vibrant urban environments. At a related event, Gamuda Land Vietnam's general director, Khanh Nguyen, discussed the company's long-term investment plans in Vietnam during the Vietnam Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Forum 2025.
