FSU football freshman LB Izayia Williams to miss the rest of the season

Florida State freshman linebacker Izayia Williams will miss the remainder of the season due to a knee injury, according to CBS Sports. The Seminoles linebacker impressed during preseason camp and made his debut against New Mexico State. However, he did not play in the subsequent loss to SMU. On September 10, Williams posted a photo of his leg in a brace and crutches on Instagram, captioning it, "trust the process," the day before he was officially ruled out for the season.

Before his senior year at Tavares, Williams suffered a torn ACL. He was considered a top recruit, a 4-star linebacker, and a boon for head coach Mike Norvell in the recruiting department. Williams had previously missed time due to an injury in preseason camp but returned to play seven snaps against the Aggies, his first game since being sidelined for over a year.

The Florida State football schedule for the 2026 season includes games against New Mexico State, SMU, Alabama, Central Arkansas, Virginia, Louisville, Miami, and Boston College, among others.
