Foundation provides borehole to boost rural water access

The Lolhaz Foundation for Children and Women has installed a borehole in Ago-Dongo, a rural community in Kurudu, Abuja, in order to improve access to clean and safe drinking water for the residents. This initiative represents one of the foundation’s efforts to support women and children, focusing on education, welfare and empowerment. The foundation's leader, Mrs Omolola Falohun, oversees these programs alongside her team.

Previously, Ago-Dongo residents faced challenges in accessing clean water, often relying on contaminated and unsafe sources. This situation posed significant risks to the health and well-being of women, children, and other community members. Accessing safe water was a persistent daily struggle for the residents.

In response to this issue, the foundation installed the borehole, providing the community with a more dependable supply of clean water for drinking and other household necessities. The completion of this project has positively impacted residents' access to water, consequently enhancing their living conditions and reducing the time women and children spent searching for usable water.

The foundation emphasizes that this project is a community-focused response to the water challenges faced by Ago-Dongo residents. They remain committed to initiatives that provide basic necessities to women and children, promoting a healthy and productive life. The borehole installation marks an important milestone for the foundation and the beneficiary community, demonstrating their dedication to addressing the needs of vulnerable populations.
