European Troop Deployment In Ukraine Would Be "War Against Russia": Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin asserted on Friday that any deployment of European troops to Ukraine would constitute a war against Russia. Moscow, he insisted, posed no threat to the West.

Presently, European leaders are contemplating the possibility of sending troops onto Ukrainian soil. This, according to Russian news outlets, translates to a war against Russia, as quoted by Putin.

Putin emphasized that Russia is not threatening European nations and has no intention of doing so. He questioned why anyone would entertain the notion of Russia entering into conflict with Europe when there is no reason for such a confrontation.

The Russian leader dismissed the notion of an imaginary threat from Russia, stating that such a threat does not exist. He reiterated that Russia launched a large-scale offensive against Ukraine in February 2022 and has repeatedly warned that the deployment of Western troops on Ukrainian territory is a red line that must not be crossed.

This stance has been a point of discussion among European leaders for years, yet it has never materialized. Russia justifies its invasion of Ukraine by citing what it perceives as a threat posed by NATO's expansion towards its borders. Ukraine aspires to join the Western military alliance.
