Audi has reintroduced the A2 name for a new electric compact car, the A2 E-Tron, positioned as a premium entry-level model. Available for ordering now, deliveries begin in December. Pricing starts at €38,200 for the 125 kW/170 PS version with a 52 kWh battery. The 4.32-meter-long five-door car boasts a sleek, modern design reminiscent of its predecessor from nearly three decades ago.

Notable features include a rear-dropping roofline, smooth tail, and precise rear spoiler. Interior highlights include Audi's patented Fidlock fastening system, which ensures items like cupholders and luggage racks stay securely in place. Multiple battery sizes and motor options are available, with three battery capacities (52, 61, and 84 kWh) and four motor configurations (125 kW/170 PS, 140 kW/190 PS, 170 kW/231 PS, and 240 kW/327 PS).

The car offers an impressive WLTP range of 423-646 kilometers, depending on the motor and battery size. Notable premium additions include a warm air pump, panorama glass roof, head-up display, LED tail lights, sport suspension, and vehicle-to-load functionality. However, the high price and extensive optional list may deter some buyers, making the A2 E-Tron an attractive option for those seeking a premium electric compact car at a relatively lower cost.
