Discord voice call servers down update: Thousands complain of ‘calls broken’; how to fix it, when will service resume

On September 10, Discord experienced issues with its voice server, causing thousands of users to report problems with their calls. As of now, over 14,000 people have shared their grievances on Downdetector, a website that tracks outages and performance issues.

Discord acknowledged the issue on their Status Page, stating there was an 'Issue with establishing voice calls'. However, they did not provide a timeline for when services would resume. At 12:21am ET, Discord posted about the ongoing problem on their Status Page.

Numerous users began complaining about the voice call feature being down, with 90% of those on Downdetector reporting similar issues. Social media was also filled with frustration, with some users calling it a last-minute problem. One user sarcastically remarked, "ah yes it's always last minute moments when discord decides yeah we are gonna shut down vc for a bit."

Despite some users claiming the issue was resolved, many others continued to face problems, including issues with streaming. One user shared a recording of the situation, saying "discord is down but not down but its definitely down but not."

Some users resorted to using alternative platforms like Google Teams Meet to continue their conversations. Another user lamented, "How am I gonna sleep call with discord down?"
