DIG Lagat closes GSU training at Magadi ahead of September, 18 pass-out parade

Deputy Inspector General Eliud Lagat marked the conclusion of training for General Service Unit (GSU) recruits at the National Police College's Magadi Field Campus, ahead of their September 18 passing-out parade. Lagat, who had inspected the recruits on August 6, addressed the class during a full-dress rehearsal two weeks prior, emphasizing the training's purpose in building character and discipline for the challenges ahead. He urged the recruits to maintain discipline and professionalism, even in difficult situations, as their actions will reveal their true character.

Lagat reminded the recruits that their role extends beyond operational skills, as they must also protect the public with respect and humane treatment. As the Magadi course wraps up, the recruits move closer to their formal transition from trainees to active police officers at the September 18 parade, with Lagat urging them to wear the GSU badge with honor and courage.
