Danilo Gallinari, a former forward for the Boston Celtics, has admitted to regretting the ACL injury that ended his tenure with the storied team. The injury occurred during a time when Gallinari was playing for a championship-caliber squad, as he had signed with the Celtics as his second opportunity to reach a championship level.

In a recent interview, Gallinari shared his thoughts on this significant moment in his career. He stated that the two ACL injuries he experienced were the only two instances where he played for a championship-caliber team, emphasizing that these were not outcomes of his own performance. Gallinari acknowledged that he had no control over his injuries and that the second ACL tear, which occurred when he was 34 years old, was more challenging than the first one at the age of 24.

The mental aspect of recovering from these injuries, he explained, proved to be the most difficult part, as the mind often returns to the same movements that caused the injury, making the recovery process even more arduous.
