Commercial Bank marks successful edition of Young Bankers Programme 2026

Commercial Bank concluded its 12th annual Young Bankers Programme, an initiative aimed at fostering financial awareness among Qatar's youth. Initiated in 2014, the programme targets participants aged 14-17, along with their parents and senior bank management. The event celebrated the program's accomplishments and marked the end of another successful edition.

The Young Bankers Programme is part of Commercial Bank's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030's Human Development Pillar. Since its launch, the programme has attracted over 2,000 applicants, indicating a growing interest in real-world exposure to the banking and financial services sector among young people.

The annual summer program begins with a two-day orientation, providing participants with foundational knowledge of banking and financial management. Following this, participants undergo hands-on training across various Commercial Bank branches and lounges, where they gain practical insights into the bank's products, services, customer experience, and operational procedures.

The programme also offers exposure to retail banking services, digital banking channels, and responsible financial practices, enabling participants to develop confidence in managing financial decisions.

On the closing day, all participants were awarded certificates of completion for their dedication, enthusiasm, and achievements during the programme. Stephen Moss, Commercial Bank Group chief executive, emphasized the importance of developing future banking talent for the industry's long-term strength. He stated, "Through the Young Bankers Programme, we provide participants with meaningful exposure to the capabilities and judgments they'll need if they choose a career in finance."

The success and passion demonstrated by the participants throughout the programme have reinforced Commercial Bank's commitment to investing in such initiatives. The Young Bankers Programme continues to be a flagship initiative under Commercial Bank's social responsibility strategy, introducing successive generations of young people in Qatar to banking fundamentals and responsible financial management.
