Chad Inaugurates Maiden FIFA Arena Pitch

Chad has inaugurated its first FIFA Arena pitch in Koumra, a city in the Southern region of the country. This state-of-the-art mini-pitch, installed at School 15, marks the beginning of a nationwide initiative to provide quality sports facilities to the country's youth. The Chadian Football Federation (FTFA) now has a world-class facility to support the development of young football talents.

With 23 FIFA Arenas planned across Chad, the government is committed to ensuring every region has access to safe, accessible, and free sports spaces. The inauguration ceremony, attended by various dignitaries, including the Chadian Minister of Youth and Sports and FIFA officials, highlighted the importance of providing children with equal opportunities to play football in a safe environment.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino emphasized that the FIFA Arena project aims to give every child the chance to enjoy and play the sport they love, regardless of their background or location. This first FIFA Arena in Koumra serves as a symbol of Chad's dedication to rebuilding its football infrastructure, starting from grassroots level to the national team.

The FIFA Arena project, launched at the 75th FIFA Congress in May 2025, aims to establish 1,000 mini-pitches worldwide by 2031, focusing on disadvantaged communities, and promoting health, youth empowerment, and gender equality.
