Carrick pleased with Sesko’s return to form ahead of Manchester derby

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick expressed satisfaction with the return of forward Benjamin Sesko, who has been performing well ahead of the club's upcoming Premier League derby against Manchester City. The 23-year-old Slovenian player missed nearly three months due to a shin injury sustained in May.

Sesko made his comeback for the last 20 minutes of Manchester United's 2-2 league draw against Everton last weekend and again in Thursday's 4-0 Champions League victory over Azerbaijani side Sabah. Following these appearances, Carrick praised Sesko's physicality, playing on the final line, and speed to run in behind. The manager stated, "It's great to have him back at this level after him working to get his fitness back. A couple of goals, good minutes in him, we're really pleased with him."

Sesko himself was thrilled after scoring his first goal at home this season. He acknowledged the confidence boost and emphasized the importance of recovering well and focusing on the derby against his local rivals.
