Cameron Highlands hit by landslide and flash floods after heavy rain [WATCH]

Heavy rain caused a landslide and flash flood in Cameron Highlands today. The landslide occurred on Section 1.4 of Jalan Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah in Tanah Rata, leading to the road's temporary closure for public safety and to allow for earth-clearing by the Public Works Department and YP Maintenance. Superintendent Azri Ramli of the district police confirmed that authorities are monitoring the clearance work and plan to reopen the road once it's deemed safe. The public was advised to avoid the road for the time being.

A flash flood also hit Taman Perumahan Golden Hill in Brinchang, affecting three houses and seven vehicles. No casualties or injuries were reported, and the situation was under control when police arrived. Fire and Rescue Department and Civil Defence Force were alerted for ongoing safety and monitoring. Police urged the public, especially those in high-risk areas, to stay vigilant and follow authorities' instructions.
