CAF Champions League: Rangers through to next round after shootout win over Sobemap

Orlando Pirates secured their place in the next round of the Caf Champions League qualifying round with a convincing 3-1 win over La Cure Waves in South Africa on Saturday. The Buccaneers faced a daunting task after a goalless draw in the first leg, but they quickly turned the tide. Abdeslam Ouaddou's side came out firing and took the lead in the 6th minute, as Abdeslam Ouaddou's goalkeeper Sipho Chaine made a costly mistake, allowing Jean Ami to score from close range.

Pirates quickly responded, with Oswin Appollis finding the back of the net in the 25th minute through a Simphiwe Masilela cross. Sebelebele extended the lead in the 37th minute, heading in Thapelo Mokobodi's corner. The Buccaneers extended their lead in the second half, with Mbuthuma heading in Mokobodi's corner. Pirates made several changes to their lineup as La Cure kept the score respectable, but Ouaddou's team never looked threatened, clinching their progression to the final round of the competition.
