BRICS Summit 2026: Union Ministers, CMs To Travel In Single Bus From Parliament To Bharat Mandapam To Ease Delhi Traffic

Union Ministers and Chief Ministers slated to attend the upcoming BRICS Summit 2026 in New Delhi plan to travel together in a single bus from Parliament to the summit site at Bharat Mandapam, according to sources. The precise time for their departure from Parliament has not yet been decided. This arrangement aims to alleviate traffic congestion in the capital city and minimize disruption for the general public during the summit.

The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to ensuring that significant official events and the movements of high-ranking officials cause minimal inconvenience to the public. Rather than multiple convoys heading towards Bharat Mandapam, the leaders are expected to embark on a collective journey in a single bus. This strategy seeks to alleviate traffic pressure on the roads and facilitate smoother travel for commuters.

Approximately 16 Heads of State, including several requiring enhanced security protection, are anticipated to participate in the BRICS Summit 2026. The Delhi Police has ramped up security measures, with a significant deployment of personnel, CCTV cameras, and traffic control measures along 35+ roads.

The coordinated movement of the leaders in a single bus is also anticipated to streamline security and traffic management along the route, thereby minimizing disruptions for the public. The leaders will first gather at Parliament before departing en masse for Bharat Mandapam. The exact departure time and the detailed itinerary are yet to be finalized.
