The spouses of BRICS leaders are set to experience a unique itinerary during their visit to Delhi for the BRICS Summit, according to sources. Organizers are planning for them to explore India's traditional arts, crafts, and handlooms at the Crafts Bazaar in Bharat Mandapam. They also intend to take them to iconic markets, heritage sites, and cultural landmarks across the city.

Initial arrangements include a lunch at The Lodhi hotel, a visit to the Prime Minister's Museum, and the National Gallery of Modern Art. The program is flexible, contingent on factors like time, security considerations, and the visiting leaders' movement schedules. Delhi aims to present a side of the city beyond the formal summit venues and diplomatic corridors.

Among the places being considered are Khan Market, Chandni Chowk, and Janpath, each providing a distinct experience of the Capital—from contemporary shopping to the bustling lanes of Old Delhi and traditional handicrafts around Janpath. Heritage landmarks such as Raj Ghat, Jama Masjid, and the Red Fort are also part of the tentative list.

The Indian Express has learned that security precautions are being taken, with Delhi Police deploying plainclothes officers primarily in marketplaces to maintain a visible presence while avoiding unnecessary attention in crowded areas. CCTV surveillance is also being closely monitored at these venues. The final venue choices will be determined based on the timeline of the visit and security requirements.
