Berlin volleyball responds from early setback with win over North Star

Berlin Brothersvalley volleyball team bounced back from a 4-set loss to Everett just two days earlier, defeating North Star 25-17, 22-25, 25-16, 25-18 on Thursday, September 10. Coach Corey Will emphasized learning from the previous defeat, stating, "A loss is only a loss if you learn nothing from it." Berlin Brothersvalley (3-1) never trailed in the first set, as a 5-0 run gave them a 16-8 lead.

The second set was closely contested with nine ties, but Berlin Brothersvalley secured a 15-14 lead with a kill by Lillian Lambert. Ella Hurley had 25 assists in the match. In the third set, the Mountaineers again pushed back with nine ties before securing a 21-14 advantage. They maintained a 2-1 match lead. Coach Tony Crisafulli of North Star acknowledged the need for improvement, saying, "We gave away an extreme number of points.

Berlin played great defense and hustled after the ball." Berlin Brothersvalley dominated the fourth set, with Elena Ritchey contributing 10 kills and a 4-0 spurt extending their lead. The Mountaineers sealed the victory, adding to their 2026 season goals.
