Bauchi governor approves new leadership for Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board

The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has officially announced the appointment of new leadership for the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, in preparation for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage. Ambassador Sulaiman Santuraki, the District Head of Tirwun, has been named the new chairman of the board, while Alhaji Aliyu Abdulkadir Ahmed, also known as Chiroman Gamawa, is the new deputy chairman. These appointments are set to take effect immediately.

The decision to appoint these individuals was made following the elevation of the Emir of Lere and the Emir of Gamawa to emirate stools, which opened up positions for new leadership within the board. Additionally, the Emir of Lere, Alhaji Nura Adamu Jumba, who had previously served as the chairman of the pilgrims board, has been appointed as the state’s Amirul Hajj for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage.

Governor Mohammed commended the outgoing chairman and members of the board for their significant contributions to the management of Hajj affairs and the welfare of pilgrims in the state. He also extended his gratitude to the traditional rulers for their ongoing service to the state and warmly congratulated the newly appointed chairman and deputy chairman.

The governor expressed his hope that they would utilize their experience and dedication to effectively carry out their responsibilities and wished them wisdom and success in their new roles.
