Assam Gets One Of India's Largest Indoor Cricket Facilities

Guwahati, September 11: India's largest indoor cricket facility has opened its doors in Fulung, North Guwahati, providing a significant boost to the region's sports infrastructure. The state-of-the-art facility, inaugurated by BCCI Secretary Shri Devajit Lon Saikia, is housed within the ACA Cricket Academy. Spanning an area of around 17,000 square feet, the arena is designed for year-round use, irrespective of weather conditions.

The indoor complex boasts nine cricket wickets, complete with imported Uniturf playing surfaces. These include four spin wickets and five seam wickets, offering a variety of playing conditions for athletes to hone their skills. The facility also features gender-segregated changing rooms equipped with ice bath setups for post-training recovery. Additionally, a 1,500-square-foot gymnasium, along with a sauna, steam room, and a specialized physiotherapy unit, is available to support athlete development and injury management.

BCCI Secretary Shri Devajit Lon Saikia emphasized the importance of modern sports infrastructure in athlete development, stating that the new facility offers the ideal environment for the next generation of cricketers in Assam to thrive and prepare for top-level competitive cricket.
