APC Campaign Council: God chose me, says Yari

Senator Abdul’aziz Yari Abubakar, the Director-General of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 campaign council, claimed during a recent meeting in Zamfara State that God chose him to lead the campaign. During the consultation meeting with party leaders and stakeholders, Yari emphasized that his role required him to travel across Nigeria to promote Tinubu’s achievements and vision. However, he stressed the importance of returning home to seek support from local stakeholders.

According to Yari, his appointment as campaign council director-general was a divine responsibility, implying that there were other qualified individuals who could have held the position. He expressed confidence that Zamfara State would provide significant backing to Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, stating that their efforts would result in victory.

Yari outlined the campaign strategy, which would involve engagements with stakeholders, open discussions, and mass rallies. He stressed that the campaign would focus on the performance of the Tinubu administration, highlighting economic and security improvements. While acknowledging some of the economic policies' challenges, Yari argued that painful reforms were necessary to reposition Nigeria's economy.

He also mentioned tax reforms aimed at taxing individuals based on their earnings, ensuring that the masses were not unduly burdened while ensuring that those earning more paid their fair share.

On security, Yari highlighted the substantial resources being spent by the Federal Government to combat terrorism and banditry. He emphasized that Tinubu had shown him documentation of the procurement of ammunition and security equipment worth over $7 million, which, although necessary due to security challenges, took resources away from infrastructure and economic development. Yari expressed optimism about the success of the campaign, attributing it to God's grace and Tinubu's efforts in fighting insecurity and banditry.
