Workers conducting maintenance at an old elite bungalow in Kahapathwela, located within the Galagedara Police Division, stumbled upon a significant cache of ammunition. The discovery, made while excavating a concrete-sealed pit on the property, included 3,711 rounds of various ammunition types, such as those for firearms, pistols, and automatic weapons.
In addition to the ammunition, four storage boxes were also found at the site. The bungalow's current owner, a Kandy-based businessman, promptly reported the incident to the Galagedara Police.
