Agentic Fabric and AI Could Drive SailPoint’s (SAIL) Next Growth Phase

SailPoint Inc. (NASDAQ:SAIL) posted 25% growth in annual recurring revenue to $1.231 billion in its fiscal second quarter of 2027, driven by a 36% increase in SaaS ARR at $847 million. The company generated $45 million in operating cash flow and $37 million in free cash flow, with top-line revenue up 17% from the previous quarter. SaaS subscription revenue reached $295 million, up 19% year-over-year, and the SaaS customer base grew by 16%, with net new SaaS ARR increasing by 34%.

AI-driven ARR surpassed $70 million, representing more than one-third of the total ARR, and AI adoption within existing customers increased by 60% during the quarter. SailPoint also introduced its Agentic Fabric solution, which integrates with Human Fabric to provide a real-time cycle for discovering and securing digital ecosystems.

The company launched its Cursor Enterprise connector to manage both autonomous AI agents and human developers through an integrated control plane. However, these AI offerings are still being tested and face competition from industry giants like CyberArk, Okta, and Microsoft.

Despite the promising AI narrative, the $70 million AI ARR still represents a smaller portion of the company's total ARR. The Agentic Fabric and Human Fabric integration could face scrutiny for overstating integration readiness. Over 1,000 hedge funds hold SailPoint stock, with Thoma Bravo as the largest institutional investor.

SailPoint's growth is supported by the increasing AI adoption among customers, which provides potential for upselling and retention. The strategic moves like Agentic Fabric position the company well in the emerging agentic identity governance space, supporting its FY 29 ARR ambitions. The recent acquisition of Entro Security further strengthens SailPoint's identity security solution stack, combining human accountability with granular security features.
