ABS Opens Offshore & Marine Support Center in Bergen

ABS has opened a state-of-the-art Offshore & Marine Support Center in Bergen, Norway, enhancing its capabilities in the region's maritime market. The facility houses research and development engineers dedicated to technology advancement and collaboration with local industry partners, alongside design approval engineers who support the Norwegian fleet and connect clients to the global ABS engineering network.

A commercial team within the center focuses on building and strengthening relationships with the Norwegian marine and offshore community. Bergen is also the primary base for ABS surveyors operating in the region.

John McDonald, ABS Chairman and CEO, emphasized the company's commitment to Norway, stating that the company views the country as a leader in maritime innovation and expertise. With the expansion, ABS is investing in capabilities that support traditional maritime services and emerging disciplines such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, subsea technologies, and risk and consulting services.
