Aaron Glenn confirms New York Jets list of absentees for week 1 Titans clash

Veteran wide receiver Tim Patrick will miss the game due to a groin injury, having joined the Jets on a one-year deal during the offseason.

Pass rusher Joseph Ossai, who suffered a ruptured plantar fascia in the preseason finale, is also set to sit out the Titans clash and remains listed as week-to-week. Glenn provided an update on Ossai's progress, noting that the pass rusher is "getting better and better" and that he is "week-to-week," with an eye on his performance in practice next week.

This leaves the Jets with two confirmed absentees for their opener, while Ossai's recovery continues to be monitored. Additionally, rookie cornerback D'Angelo Ponds and running back and kick returner Kene Nwangwu are listed as doubtful for the Titans game, potentially resulting in the Jets being without four players when they take the field in Tennessee, though Ponds and Nwangwu have not been ruled out.
