The deceased are believed to have been coming from Raipur via National Highway 53. Fourteen others were injured in the accident, with three of them being shifted to Sakoli Sub-District Hospital. The Chhattisgarh government has announced an ex-gratia payment of ₹5 lakh each to the families of the deceased, while ₹50,000 will be given to each of those injured.
The Chhattisgarh government team is currently in Bhandara, coordinating with the Maharashtra government and local administration to facilitate medical treatment for the injured and assist the affected families.
