9/11 Watch Guide: Documentaries, TV Specials and Live Coverage Commemorating the 25th Anniversary

The 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks on the Twin Towers in New York City has sparked a plethora of TV programming and streaming content. Major networks like ABC, CBS, and NBC are dedicating significant airtime to live coverage and specials commemorating the tragic day.

ABC's Good Morning America will host a live broadcast on Friday morning, featuring interviews with first responders, survivors, and family members of those lost. ABC News Live will also air a one-hour special edition of "Prime" from Ground Zero, anchored by Linsey Davis, and featuring anchors Sade Baderinwa and Mike Marza.

ABC will air "9/11 Tribute in Light: Live from Lower Manhattan," hosted by David Muir, Robin Roberts, and Diane Sawyer, at 8 p.m. ET. This special will conclude with the iconic "Tribute in Light" public art installation, which has illuminated the New York City skyline every 9/11 since the attacks. Additionally, ABC's "9/11: United We Stand – 25 Years Later" special, hosted by Michael Strahan, will re-air on September 11.

Disney+ and Hulu are offering "9/11 Reunited," a three-part docuseries featuring survivors, first responders, and witnesses who have reunited with those who changed, and in many cases saved, their lives on September 11. National Geographic is airing "9/11: WE REMEMBER" on September 11, with anchor Lesley Stahl revisiting her late colleague Ed Bradley's initial "60 Minutes" 9/11 story, as well as exploring Summit, New Jersey's recovery from the attacks.

CBS's CBS Mornings will feature multiple stories covering the events of 9/11 and their aftermath. CBS Evening News will anchor a special report from Ground Zero, with correspondents reporting from New York City, the Pentagon, and the crash site of Flight 93 near Shanksville. CBS News Special Report will air a 90-minute special covering 9/11 memorials in New York, Shanksville, and the Pentagon.

NBC's TODAY show will have Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin on-air, with Guthrie reporting from Ground Zero. NBC News Special Report will air at 8:30 a.m. ET, with Guthrie anchoring the program. NBC Nightly News and Top Story will broadcast special editions from Ground Zero, while the "Here's the Scoop" podcast will feature interviews with people who were children on 9/11, discussing how parenthood has shaped their perspectives on the day.

CNN will air "9/11: 25 Years Later" with anchors joining Americans at various sites impacted by the attacks. Fox News's FOX & Friends will broadcast live from Jersey City, overlooking the New York City skyline, while Steve Doocy covers events from Ground Zero. America's Newsroom will carry the live reading of victims' names from the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.

Both ABC and CBS will broadcast special reports throughout the day, featuring interviews with families of victims, military officials, survivors, and founders/CEOs of 9/11-related foundations. The Story will air a live report from the Hyatt House, featuring interviews with Cardinal Timothy Dolan, NYPD co-chief chaplain, and Jessica Tisch, NYPD Commissioner.
