27-year-old attacker escapes car crash unhurt, Hull City confirm

The Football Association has imposed a £30,000 fine on Hull City for discriminatory chanting during a match against Chelsea in February. The club acknowledged the FA's charge after supporters were heard using a homophobic chant at the MKM Stadium. Stadium announcements and screen messages repeatedly urged spectators to cease the offensive behavior. Three individuals were arrested in connection with the alleged incident, and Hull City subsequently banned three supporters for a minimum of three years.

The FA accused the club of failing to prevent supporters from using offensive, abusive, or insulting language related to sexual orientation. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed surprise at the FA's decision, while João Pedro, a 27-year-old Arsenal attacker, escaped a car crash unharmed, according to Hull City. The Premier League club strongly condemned the behavior, labeling the chant as a recognized homophobic slur and warning that its use could amount to a hate crime.

Hull City also urged supporters not to repeat the chant when they travel to Chelsea for an upcoming Premier League match.

In a statement, Hull City emphasized that discrimination of any kind is "wholly unacceptable" and would not be tolerated. The club warned that anyone using discriminatory language could face arrest and criminal charges.
