World’s first robot sports league launched in Riyadh, plans to hit 8 cities worldwide

CyberHero, the world's first global humanoid robot sports league, made its debut in Riyadh on September 9th. Hero Esports, Asia's leading esports company, announced plans for an inaugural season spanning eight cities across four regions - the Middle East, Europe, the Americas, and Asia. The inaugural competition, CyberHero x Riyadh, was held at Boulevard City and showcased the capabilities of EngineAI T800 humanoid robots.

Standing at 1.73 meters tall and weighing between 75-85 kilograms, the T800 can walk, run, punch, kick, turn, recover from falls, and even dance. Danny Tang, Co-founder and CEO of Hero Esports, explained that the league was inspired by the idea of pushing robots to their limits and exploring how humans, AI, and robots can collaborate.

The event featured competitions between teams managed by digital personalities and was attended by the region's top digital influencers. HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan al Saud, Chairman of the Saudi Esports Federation, praised the event as a testament to Saudi Arabia's commitment to esports and entertainment. The league's unique team-based format involves builders, coders, and drivers working together to create and compete with the robots.

As technology advances, the league aims to expand into new disciplines and grow alongside developments in physical AI.
