Woman stabbed to death in suspected love triangle in Kisii

A 26-year-old woman named Dorcas Oiruru was found dead in a suspected love triangle at Menyinkwa Trading Market in Kisii Central Sub-County. According to preliminary investigations, Oiruru had been left alone in the rented house of her male friend, a gas vendor. Around 6pm, a woman with a knife allegedly attacked Oiruru, stabbing her on the neck and both hands.

Two knives, a blood-stained bedsheet, and blood-stained clothing were recovered from the scene. Oiruru's body was taken to the mortuary for an autopsy. Police suspect the killing may have been linked to a love triangle, but the investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances and motive behind the attack. In a separate incident in Migori County, a 28-year-old herdsman named Thomas Weisiko Sando was discovered dead near Renyamabairege River.

The dispute arose after a herd of cattle allegedly invaded a nearby maize farm, destroying crops. The matter was reported to local authorities, and police intervened, but tension escalated when a crowd, armed with crude weapons, blocked the police from retrieving Sando's body. The crowd demanded the return of 20 cattle belonging to Sando's family, which they claimed were stolen.

Police were outnumbered and had to retreat, allowing the group to negotiate with Sando's family for the return of the cattle. After resolution, the body was collected and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding Sando's death.
