A 37-year-old woman named Lilian Akinyi was discovered dead in her house in Rongo, Migori County, following an alleged domestic dispute with her husband on Wednesday morning. Neighbours were alerted by Akinyi's screams at around 6am, and they broke into the house to find her lying on the floor in a pool of blood. Upon investigation, police found that Akinyi had suffered a deep wound to the head and was bleeding severely.

Her husband, the alleged perpetrator, attempted to flee the scene when the neighbours discovered the situation. A crowd of angry onlookers attacked him, causing him serious injuries.
