Warwick Alumni Get New Leadership, Aruleba Emerges President

Funmi Ogundare, representing the Warwick University Nigeria Alumni Association, has selected Kayode Aruleba as the organization's new President, supplanting Olukemi Ogutuga-Awodein, who had served the full three-year term. The selection ceremony took place at the association's Annual General Meeting, recently convened at The Nordic Hotel in Lagos.

The newly elected Executive Committee (EXCOS) consists of Kayode Aruleba as President, Titus Osikoya as Vice-President, Adedolapo Onikan as Secretary, Mariam Chukwuemeka as Deputy Secretary, Emmanuel Anumbor as Treasurer, and Noble Obasi as Legal Adviser. The new leadership team is anticipated to build upon the association's current network while intensifying engagement, mentorship, inclusiveness, and professional networking opportunities for Warwick alumni residing in Nigeria.

In her address as outgoing President, Ogutuga-Awodein reflected on her tenure, encouraged the incoming executives to pursue their vision with determination, and committed to fostering stronger relationships among members. She acknowledged that some of her set objectives were not fully accomplished but expressed gratitude to her executive committee members for their support during her time in office.

Additionally, she appealed to the members to support the new leadership, urging them to remain steadfast in implementing the planned programs and collaborate with like-minded alumni. The transition of leadership signifies a fresh chapter for the Warwick alumni community in Nigeria, with the new team tasked with consolidating the association's activities and deepening connections among its members.

Ogutuga-Awodein, a proud Warwick alumna, expressed optimism about the association's future, stating, "The journey continues, and the best chapters are still ahead."
