VIDEO: TC Blocks AC Local Train Door To Fine Passenger At Ghatkopar, Railways Respond

A video shared on social media has sparked controversy over the actions of a ticket checker (TC) at Ghatkopar station in Mumbai. The TC is seen obstructing the doors of an AC local train while issuing a challan to a passenger who was traveling without a valid ticket. According to the video, the TC repeatedly prevented the doors from closing, causing delays to the train's departure.

While the TC's action of fining the ticketless commuter was deemed justified, the obstruction of the train doors became a point of contention. One user questioned the decision, expressing concern that obstructing the doors could delay numerous passengers and argued that it amounted to misuse of authority. The Central Railway's official account responded to the post, stating that an inquiry had been conducted into the incident.

They revealed that the door was obstructed for a few seconds while the TC was handing over the receipt to the passenger. The response also mentioned that the ticket check was conducted following complaints about unauthorized passengers traveling on AC local trains. Several users criticized the TC's conduct, questioning whether catching ticketless passengers was the priority while other concerns were deemed secondary.
