Valdez homers and the Pirates use 8 pitchers in a 4-2 win over the White Sox

Pittsburgh's rookie Esmerlyn Valdez delivered a solo home run, while rookie Konnor Griffin drove in two runs during the Pirates' three-run seventh inning in their 4-2 victory over the Chicago White Sox. The team utilized eight different pitchers to secure the win, achieving their third consecutive triumph. During the game, the White Sox, currently leading the AL Central with a 75-70 record, maintained a two-game advantage over Cleveland, who lost their match against Baltimore.

The game saw a brief turmoil in the seventh inning as Sam Antonacci elbowed Brandon Lowe at second base following a slide. Antonacci's RBI infield single sparked the incident, which momentarily halted the game order. The White Sox's Munetaka Murakami contributed to the excitement with his 31st career homer, but he struck out twice in a row.

The White Sox loaded the bases off Luke Weaver with one out in the eighth inning, but Chase Meidroth executed a double-play to seal the game.
