US suffered major aircraft losses after Iran strike on Jordan base: Report

The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned Iran's missile attack on Jordan, calling it a blatant violation of the kingdom's sovereignty and a direct threat to its security and stability. The UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared its full solidarity with Jordan and pledged support for all measures taken to safeguard the Hashemite Kingdom's security and stability.

This condemnation followed a major Iranian ballistic missile barrage targeting Jordanian territory during a growing conflict involving Tehran and US forces stationed in the kingdom. Jordan's armed forces successfully intercepted and destroyed 18 of the 20 missiles launched from Iranian soil, with no casualties reported. The remaining two missiles fell in uninhabited areas.

Jordanian authorities urged residents not to approach or handle any unidentified fragments, emphasizing the need to rely on official information. The military kept all surveillance, early-warning, and air-defense systems at maximum readiness, with units deployed around the clock to protect the country's airspace. Iran claimed the attack was retaliation for US military actions against its oil tankers and targeted a US base at Al-Azraq in Jordan, though an independent assessment of damage was not made.

The attack heightened tensions between Tehran and Washington, who had been involved in a series of confrontations across the Gulf and neighboring states. The UAE's stance placed the latest attack within the broader framework of sovereignty, rather than the competing military claims of Iran and the US.
