US Geological Survey records 4.1-magnitude quake after Hezbollah tunnel blast in Lebanon

A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck southern Lebanon following an explosion aimed at Hezbollah tunnels near the strategic Ali Al-Taher Heights. The US Geological Survey confirmed the magnitude of the quake. Israel claimed it had successfully destroyed Hezbollah's underground infrastructure in the heights after conducting multiple strikes in the area.

The military stated that they had dismantled eight underground routes that were stocked with weapons, drones, and military equipment, providing a strategic vantage point over southern Lebanon. These routes were reportedly constructed with joint funding and planning from Iran. This incident follows weeks of heightened tension around Ali Al-Taher Heights, which Israel has been targeting to push Hezbollah fighters out of both above-ground and underground positions.

Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz had previously warned that Iran would face a "strong response" causing "unprecedented damage" if it attacked Israel. Iran reportedly threatened the United States with a forceful response to any Israeli action against Ali Al-Taher Hill.
