U2 to Be Honored as 2027 MusiCares Persons of the Year

U2, consisting of Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr., have been chosen as the 2027 MusiCares Persons of the Year. The annual ceremony, which will be held for the 36th time, will take place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on February 5, 2027, the evening before the 2027 Grammys at Crypto.com Arena. U2 will be the fourth band to receive this prestigious honor, joining Fleetwood Mac (2018), Aerosmith (2020), and Grateful Dead (2025).

Notably, Bono, U2's lead vocalist, will be the first individual to be honored both separately and as part of a group.

In their joint statement, U2 expressed their admiration for MusiCares and the support it provides to the vast array of talent within the music industry. They have been recording and touring for 50 years due to the invaluable contributions of professionals such as producers, engineers, carpenters, and riggers. The band credits their audience and "Persons of the Year" with enabling them to continue making music and advocating for causes they are passionate about.
