U-20 WWC: Black Princesses win can inspire France challenge – Kurt Okraku

Ghana Football Association president Kurt Okraku is convinced the Black Princesses’ decisive 3-1 victory over South Korea has given the team the confidence needed to face France in the upcoming FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. Ghana has now revived its hopes of advancing to the knockout stage after a 3-0 defeat to Ecuador in their opening Group C match.

The Black Princesses dominated much of the contest, scoring two goals in the second half to break the deadlock. Sarah Nyarko netted the opening goal after a slick move involving Priscilla Mensah and Agnes Owusu, followed by Ivy Owusu Ansah's impressive long-range strike. Ruth Amponsah added a third in the 84th minute before South Korea scored a late consolation goal.

With this victory, Ghana has ended their seven-match winless run at the tournament and secured a second-place position in the group. Okraku believes the manner of the win has strengthened the team's belief and given them the confidence they need for their final group-stage match against France. The team captain, Priscilla Mensah, and goalkeeper, Agnes Owusu, have been instrumental in the team's success, with Okraku noting the positive atmosphere in the camp and the players' motivation. A win against France will ensure Ghana's progression to the knockout rounds.
