Trump offers US$5,000 to every American if Republicans win midterm elections

President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he would provide a $5,000 dividend to every American adult if Republicans maintain control of Congress during the November midterm elections. The proposal was made at the Republican Party's inaugural midterm convention in Dallas, though the feasibility of the payments and their legality remained unclear.

With roughly 270 million US adults, the proposed payouts would amount to approximately $1.35 trillion. Trump praised himself for accomplishing the greatest two years in presidential history and emphasized that voting Republican would prevent the nation from falling into the hands of the "radical left Democrats." He warned that if Republicans were not elected, the U.S. would take decades to recover.

During the convention, Trump vowed to campaign in battleground states and districts leading up to the election day.
