This viral cheap compact camera already felt retro – but now it comes in a Y2K-inspired transparent design

The Camp Snap 2, a retro budget compact camera, has debuted in a transparent Arctic Frost colorway, adding a Y2K-inspired aesthetic to its already popular design. Launched earlier this summer, the second-generation Camp Snap offered built-in retro filters without a computer, a slimmer profile, and reduced shutter lag, all while maintaining a screen-free shooting experience.

Despite its brief June 2026 debut, the Camp Snap has expanded its color options, including semi-transparent models. However, the latest Arctic Frost variant replaces the semi-transparent look with a frosted white finish, revealing the camera's inner workings. This new color choice provides an alternative to the bold, semi-transparent hues like lime green, icy blue, bright pink, and purple, already part of the Jelly Edition lineup.

The Camp Snap 2's ability to swap filters with a single button press is a notable upgrade, though the feature can be disabled for younger users. Priced at $70 / £54 / AU$130, the Camp Snap 2 offers the charm of a disposable camera combined with the convenience of digital photography. Currently available in the Arctic Frost color from Camp Snap, the camera comes with a pre-installed memory card and allows customers to personalize their device with stick-on gemstone packs.
