'Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub' shifts to poker for global finale

Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub is transitioning from traditional Korean card games to high-stakes poker on a global scale for its final installment, according to director Choi Kook-hee. The fourth and last film in the franchise will be an independent story centered on intense human emotions such as envy, jealousy, and betrayal, as emphasized by Choi after the premiere in Seoul.

Unlike the previous three films, this installment delves deeply into complex human emotions, with a particular focus on revenge. The plot follows Jang Tae-young, played by Byun Yo-han, who loses his online casino empire after being betrayed by his close friend Park Tae-young, portrayed by Roh Jae-won. Driven by a desire for vengeance, the two friends engage in an epic global gambling showdown involving characters from Japan and Vietnam.

Choi deliberately chose Texas Hold'em poker as the central element of the film, aiming to attract a worldwide audience. He highlighted the global popularity of poker, stating that it provides the ideal backdrop for the story's intense emotional themes and the larger-than-life showdown between the two protagonists.
