Spurs and Richarlison in dispute over contract

Tottenham Hotspur and Brazilian star Richarlison are currently at odds over the remaining nine months of his contract, following the collapse of his planned £35 million move to Everton. The 29-year-old is reportedly eager to terminate the contract, with sources indicating he wishes to be released from the remainder of his deal without financial penalty.

Despite Richarlison's desire for a clean break, Tottenham Hotspur are not willing to entertain such an option and are instead focusing on negotiating a settlement with the player's representatives. The club has a 12-month option to extend Richarlison's contract until the end of the next season, which they are unwilling to utilize or negotiate around.

Following the Everton deal's failure, Richarlison was left out of Tottenham's Premier League squad. Additionally, Brazilian club Vasco de Gama has expressed interest in signing the forward, who may be keen on reuniting with his homeland.
